Enma is the personal summon of the and king of the monkeys. He possesses great physical strength and fighting ability, and is fiercely loyal to Sarutobi.  In addition, Enma is capable of transforming himself into a large staff that is as hard as diamond, which he can elongate at will.
Enma was summoned during the battle with Orochimaru to even the odds against the deceased and , now Orochimaru's minions due to Kuchiyose: Edo Tensei (Summoning: Impure World Resurrection).
Enma (and his weapon form) bears resemblance to Sun Wukong, the Monkey King of classical Chinese literature Journey to the West.
